milk cow blues
(written by bill passalacqua)

eight o'clock this morning, i was surprised to be awake
it was way too early, it was terrible mistake
mamma called me on the telephone, said "hey four leaf clover
kick your coffee maker on cause mamma's coming over
mamma's coming over and i got the milk cow blues

i said "wait a minute now mamma, my coffee don't taste right
i hesitate to use coffeemate and skim is way too light"
she said "that sounds like a nightmare baby,
     but i'm your waking dream
cause mamma's coming over and she's bringing you some cream"
yeah mamma's coming over, to solve my milk cow blues

now it's eight-thirty in the morning, i'm still sitting on my porch
staring at a black hole and praying for torch
mamma came across the hill keeping true to her word
first i saw the milk cow and then i saw the heard
mamma came right over to solve my milk cow blues

she said "my poor baby, i came to set things right
you know we both hate to use coffemate
but your coffee's out of sight
and mamma knows you won't buy the cow
if you get the cream for free
but it's your coffee that i'm after baby
you can get your cream from me"
mamma came right over, she solved my milk cow blues
